Linking

The Linking tab pairs an individual Depop listing with its Vinted counterpart so the rest of SaleLinx knows they’re the same item. Once two listings are linked:

  • Restocker can auto-repost the partner when one side sells.
  • The unified Listings view collapses the pair into one row with stacked platform badges.
  • The Crosslist tab’s Linked / Unlinked filter recognises them as a pair.

A successful Crosslist sets the link automatically. The Linking tab is for the case where you crosslisted manually outside SaleLinx, lost a link due to an account reset, or need to pair pre-existing inventory after migrating in.

When to use it

  • You have inventory that exists on both Depop and Vinted but wasn’t crosslisted via SaleLinx.
  • You want to turn on Restocker and need the pairs set up first.
  • A previous link broke (a listing was deleted and recreated, or an edge case desynced the pair).

What you need

  • Cloud sync on for both items. Linking only works on cloud-synced listings, because the link state lives on your cloud record. See Cloud sync.
  • Both items active on their marketplace.
  • Both Depop and Vinted tabs open in the browser.

Reading the tab

The tab is a two-column layout:

  • Left column - unlinked items on whichever platform you’re currently browsing.
  • Right column - unlinked items on the other platform.
  • Already linked - a collapsed section at the bottom shows existing pairs with per-pair Unlink buttons.

Each card has: a search box per column, the thumbnail, title, brand, price and platform badge.

A dismissible “What is linking?” card sits at the top to remind you what the tab does on first visit.

Pairing manually

  1. Click a card in the left column. The right column re-sorts by match probability and adds a colour-banded percentage badge to each card (green for likely matches, amber for maybes, grey for weak).
  2. Click the suggested partner on the right. A confirmation modal shows both thumbnails, titles, and the match score side by side.
  3. Click Link. Both records get a cross-reference (link_id on each side). The cards disappear from the unlinked columns and move to the Already linked section.

The right-column reshuffle uses a quick shake animation so you can see which items moved.

The fuzzy match

The match score is a 0-100 integer based on how similar the two titles are, with a small nudge if the prices are close to each other. SaleLinx normalises both titles (lowercase, strip punctuation, drop common stopwords like “the”, “vintage”, “new”) before comparing, so cosmetic differences don’t throw it off.

The score bands map to badges:

| Band | Visual | | ----- | ----------------------- | | Good | Green, confident match | | Maybe | Amber, worth a look | | Weak | Grey, probably unrelated |

The match isn’t perfect. Treat “Good” as a strong suggestion you should still confirm, not as truth.

Link 100%

Above the columns is a Link 100% button. Click it to open a review modal listing every unlinked pair with a perfect-confidence match. Each row is pre-checked; uncheck any you don’t want, then Accept to link the remaining pairs in one batch. Faster than clicking through one at a time when your titles are clean matches.

Refresh

The Refresh button at the top of the tab re-fetches your listings on both Depop and Vinted in parallel, then reloads the columns. Use it after you’ve added new listings on either side and want them to show up in the unlinked columns.

The button disables and shows “Refreshing…” while running.

Unlinking

In the Already linked section, each pair has an Unlink button. Clicking it removes the cross-reference on both sides without touching the listings themselves. The pair reappears in the unlinked columns.

Plan and access

Linking is included on Pro and Business. The free trial and Starter see the tab locked with an Upgrade card.

Cloud sync (a prerequisite) is also Pro and Business, so the gates align.

Next steps

  • Cloud sync - the prerequisite for any linking.
  • Crosslist - sets links automatically on every successful crosslist.
  • Restocker - the main consumer of linked pairs.
