CSV import

Bring an existing inventory in from another tool and post it to Depop or Vinted as listings. SaleLinx auto-detects the file format from the column headers, so you don’t need to map fields by hand for the supported exports.

When to use it

  • Migrating from another reselling tool (e.g. dotb).
  • Importing a Shopify product export.
  • Re-loading a previous SaleLinx export after a wipe or platform switch.

If you only have a handful of items, the standard Crosslist flow is faster.

Supported formats

SaleLinx auto-detects the format from the headers and shows a badge in the preview:

  • dotb - full export including Vinted catalog, size, condition and package-size IDs. Imports cleanly with no manual mapping.
  • Shopify - product CSV from a Shopify store. Title, description, brand, price and images carry over; category/size are inferred from Shopify product types.
  • SaleLinx - the format SaleLinx itself exports. Round-trips your own backup.
  • Unknown - if SaleLinx can’t identify the format from the headers, the import is rejected. Re-export from the source tool with a recognised header set.

Importing

  1. Open the Listings tab.
  2. Click the CSV menu button in the toolbar and choose Import.
  3. Drop your CSV into the file picker.
  4. SaleLinx parses the file and shows the detected format + a preview of the first rows.
  5. Pick the target marketplace (Depop or Vinted).
  6. Optionally tick Save as draft - lets you import without going live so you can review on the marketplace itself first.
  7. Click Start import.

The panel posts each row sequentially with safe pacing between items so the marketplace doesn’t flag the burst as automated activity. Progress and per-row status update live; you can keep working in other tabs.

What rows are skipped

Rows that fail validation are skipped and listed at the end with the reason. Common causes:

  • Missing required field (title, description, price).
  • Photo URL returns 404 or non-image content.
  • Brand isn’t recognised by the target marketplace (you can edit and retry, or fall back to no brand).

The import never blocks on a single bad row - it logs and moves on.

Exporting

The same CSV menu has an Export all option. SaleLinx writes a CSV in its native format with everything in your unified Listings view. Useful for backing up before a re-import, or moving an inventory to a different SaleLinx account.

Plan and access

CSV import is available on every paid plan, including the 7-day free trial. Imported listings count against your normal monthly crosslist allowance, so the same tier headroom that gates regular crosslisting also applies here. See the pricing page for current numbers.

If you only have a handful of items, the standard Crosslist flow is faster.

Next steps

  • Crosslist - the one-at-a-time flow.
  • Listings - manage everything you just imported.
  • Cloud sync - back up your imported catalogue across devices.
